(ABC 6 News) – It was another successful summer season for Safe City Nights in Rochester.
For three years now, the Rochester Police Department has hosted summer events as a way for officers and other emergency responders, and the community, to get to know one another.
"Roughly we’ve seen about a thousand plus people at the prior five events. So we’re looking like we’re gonna serve close to 6,000 people this year, which is a great outcome. This first time we did our event in 2019 we had 450, so a great increase over the last couple of years," said Officer James Marsolek.
While Tuesday was the last summer event, RPD said it plans to continue its outreach efforts during the winter months as well.
