RPT offering “A Warm Place to Be” through Friday
(ABC 6 News) – Rochester Public Transit will be offering no-fare boarding for anyone seeking shelter from dangerously cold temperatures as part of the “A Warm Place to Be” program, starting at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory starting at 6 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Friday.
Although the Advisory expires at 9 a.m. Friday, RPT is extending the activation through our entire service day on Friday, as winds are forecast to increase throughout the day, pushing wind chills into double digits below zero again by early evening.
