UPDATE: Iowa man hurt after semi truck crash in Fillmore County

(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: a man from Iowa is injured after a semi truck crash in Fillmore County, according to Minnesota State Patrol (MSP).

MSP says the crash happened around 4 p.m. on Thursday. 64-year-old Scott Ives of Oelwein was driving the semi southbound on Highway 63 in Bloomfield Township when a gust of wind hit the truck.

This caused the semi to go on its side into a ditch off the road.

Ives was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to MSP.

The road condition was wet at the time of the crash. The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department and Spring Valley Ambulance Service assisted with the incident.

At around 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, a 64-year-old semi-truck driver was injured in a crash on Highway 63.

According to Minnesota State Patrol’s crash report, a gust of wind caused the truck to overturn on its side into a ditch as it was traveling southbound.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time. MSP will release more information at 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department and Spring Valley Ambulance also responded to the scene.
