(ABC 6 News) – A registered sex offender is facing new felony charges for allegedly removing his electronic ankle monitor.
According to the Rochester Police Department, the incident happened on December 23 at 1:25 a.m. Officers were called to Damascus Way located at 2118 Campus Drive Southeast. 43-year-old Kurt Jennings allegedly cut his electric ankle monitor before leaving the facility.
With the help of a K9, officers tracked Jennings’ footprints to nearby train tracks toward 50th Avenue Southeast. Soon after, officers received a report of a suspicious male matching Jenning’s description in the area. Police pursued him on foot and were able to arrest him near Highway 14 and 40th Ave. SE.
Jennings now faces a felony charge for Escape Custody and multiple misdemeanor charges.
