St. Paul shooting leaves 3 dead
(KSTP) – Police in St. Paul are investigating what they call “one of the most complicated scenes we have investigated in a long time.”
At around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon officers responded to the 900 block of Case Avenue East in St. Paul for a report of a shooting.
When police arrived, they found two people outside of a building suffering from gunshot wounds. Those victims alerted police that there were other victims inside, and officers found three more victims as they proceeded to clear the building of potential threats.
The two victims found outside were transported to the hospital and the three people found inside were declared dead at the scene by St. Paul fire medics.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the three homicide victims Monday as 33-year-old Angelica Gonzales, 42-year-old Cory Freeman and 44-year-old Maisha Spaulding, all from St. Paul.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, but police said officers have responded to 17 calls at the address over the past year for issues ranging from disorderly conduct to aggravated assault. Additionally, the department said it hasn’t found anything indicating it was a domestic incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
