(ABC 6 News) – Two local organizations in Austin teamed up to raise more than 70 thousand dollars for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Sterling Pharmacies and the Astrup Family Foundation presented the check earlier today with employees from both organizations in attendance.
Although, this year was different. The Astrup Family Foundation agreed to match up to $35,000 to hit a goal of $70,000 in honor of its 70th anniversary. This was its biggest goal instead of aiming for $20,000- $25,000 like other years.
“This check is huge. We have been involved with the stores and partnering with them in giving to the Alzheimer’s Association during the month of June for six years. This will be our seventh year," President of Astrup Family Foundation Susan Astrup-Lundquist said.
Sterling Pharmacy is just one of the stores the foundation works with. Its customers, employees, and the community play a significant role in helping to find a cure.
