The City of Rochester announces new Community Development Director

(ABC 6 News) – The City of Rochester has announced the new Community Development Director.

Irene C. Woodward, has been selected into the new role. Woodward previously worked for the City of Allentown, PA as the Director of Planning & Zoning, and brings 15 years of experience specializing in affordable housing, grant writing, management and strategic planning. Her track record also includes the execution of city and urban planning strategies and economic development.

Woodward obtained a Master’s in City Planning with a concentration in community and economic development from the University of Pennsylvania and AICP Certification from the American Institute of City Planners.

There will be opportunities for members of the community, business and industry sectors to meet Ms. Woodward whose role with the city will be effective starting July 18.

Cindy Steinhauser, who previously held the role, transitions to one of the two Deputy City Administrators for the city.
