Troopers respond to dozens of crashes Thursday

(ABC 6 News) – Emergency crews across southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa have been busy since the winter storm started Tuesday.
Numbers from the Minnesota State patrol show drivers either stayed home or were able to make it to their destination safely during the storm.
Across the state of Minnesota, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., troopers responded to 69 crashes, 6 with injury, 76 vehicles off the road and 1 jackknifed semi.
Since the start of the storm troopers have responded to more than 130 crashes, 6 with injuries, over 200 vehicle spinouts and 3 jackknifed semis.

In Iowa, during the strongest 24-hour period of the storm Wednesday, troopers responded to 48 crashes.
10 people were hurt, 38 crashes involved damage and there were 86 motorist assists.
There were no deaths reported in either Iowa or Minnesota.
