UPDATE: Lourdes graduate, flight instructor killed in plane crash near Red Wing

UPDATE 9/7/22: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two victims in the Bay City, Wis. plane crash Tuesday.
John Zeman, 28, and Ethan Smith, 20, both from Rochester, were killed in the crash.
The sheriff’s office says the National Traffic Safety Board is expected to take several months to complete the investigation.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported that two people are dead following a plane crash in Bay City, Wis. Tuesday afternoon.
According to a press release, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified at about 1:39 p.m. of an airplane crash about half a mile west of the Red Wing Regional Airport on airport property.
Officers report that the aircraft was determined to be a 2012 Glass Air Super II SFT which left the Rochester International Airport at 12:20 p.m. for a training flight to the Red Wing Regional Airport.
Two people were killed in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
ABC 6 News spoke with the man the plane is registered to, who confirms he was not on board, but knows the two individuals killed. But he declined to comment further.
The incident will be investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB).
