Two hospitalized in separate SE Minnesota vehicle crashes Monday
(ABC 6 News) – Two people were sent to the hospital in separate vehicle crashes in southeast Minnesota early Monday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) said one single-vehicle crash happened just before 6:00 a.m. when a vehicle traveling on Highway 56 left the roadway and rolled at 750th St. near Hayfield in Dodge County.
The driver of the vehicle, 32-year-old Kimberly Schmidt of Austin, was transported to Austin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The MSP said she was wearing her seatbelt and road conditions were snow and ice covered at the time.
The MSP was assisted at the scene by Hayfield Fire – EMS, and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
The MSP said another crash happened around the same time except in Winona County. A vehicle traveling eastbound on I-90 left the roadway and rolled at mile point 262 near Ridgeway.
The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Amy Jo Storm of Dover, Minn. was transported to Winona Health for non-life threatening injuries. The MSP said she was wearing a seatbelt and road conditions were also snow and ice covered at the time.
The MSP was assisted at the scene by Winona EMS and the Winona County Sheriff’s Office.
