Woman pleads guilty to 2021 washing machine break-ins from jail
(ABC 6 News) – An Edina woman currently serving a jail sentence pleaded guilty to breaking into a Rochester apartment complex’s laundry machines in 2021.
Stephanie Bellanger, 30, was charged in July of this year for breaking into Silver Lakes Apartments’ laundry rooms, damaging the doors, and taking change from the coin collectors.
Bellanger and 37-year-old Cody Hendrickson of Richfield allegedly stole around $22 in coinage from each machine, and inflicted $200 in damage to each laundry room door, plus $100 in damage to each laundry machine.
After the Silver Lake Apartments case, Bellanger was charged with additional washing machine break-ins at the Rochester Valhalla Apartment complex, as well as other apartment buildings in NE Rochester.
Bellanger pleaded guilty to 1st-degree criminal damage to property in the Silver Lake Apartments break-ins.
She also pleaded guilty to two counts of 2nd-degree burglary stemming from the Valhalla Apartment and NE building coin thefts.
Bellanger’s plea deal states that the sentences for the above charges will run concurrently with her present sentence.
