(ABC 6 News) – Veterans day is just around the corner and one local business in Albert lea is working towards giving back to the veteran community this year.
A-Best Sew & Vac is hosting “Quilts of Valor” events in October, where community members are invited to get together and sew quilts for veterans touched by war.
Owner Vern Hanson said it’s not only a good way to give back to a valuable cause but it’s also an opportunity to get involved in the community.
“It’s important to be a part of the community and to give back both in this case to our veterans but there’s a lot of different organizations that I know could use some space to work on things,” Hanson said.
A-Best Sew & Vac is hosting another workshop next Tuesday from 11 a.m. to p.m.
Anyone who wants to donate time or supplies is invited to attend.
