“You’re Killin’ Me Squalls” wins MnDOT’s snowplow naming contest for SE MN

(ABC 6 News) — Eight MnDOT snowplows now have new names, as part of the Name a Snowplow contest.
Each newly-named snowplow will be assigned to one of the state’s eight districts.
In December, MnDOT opened up submissions and received more than 8,000 name suggestions. Staff narrowed the list to 49 finalists for the public to vote on. More than 32,000 people voted in this year’s contest.
Here are all of the winning names:
- Taylor Drift – District 2 (Northwest)
- Clark W. Blizzwald – District 3 (Central)
- Dolly Plowton – District 1 (Northeast)
- Waipahinte (Dakota word for “snowplow”) – District 8 (Southwest)
- Beyonsleigh – Distict 4 (West Central)
- You’re Killin’ Me Squalls – District 6 (Southeast)
- Fast and Flurrious – District 7 (South Central)
- Barbie’s Dream Plow – Metro District (Twin Cities)
