National Night Out events return Tuesday
(ABC 6 News) – Neighbors all across the state and country will come together on Tuesday to promote neighborhood unity and police-community partnerships in pursuit of safer communities.
National Night Out, traditionally held the first Tuesday in August, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.
Law enforcement officers from the Police Department or Sheriff’s Office will visit as many neighborhood celebrations as possible.
Police Chief Jim Franklin shares, “We’re committed to delivering the highest level of public safety to the City of Rochester, but that requires all of us to work together. National Night Out is a perfect opportunity for neighborhoods and law enforcement to come together, have some fun and support a common goal.”
In 2019, the Rochester National Night Out was ranked 3rd in the nation for communities of 100,000 to 300,000.
Last year’s event was delayed until October because of the pandemic.
