Byron’s Ayoka Lee nominated for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year

(ABC 6 News) — Tuesday major news came out for one of Byron’s biggest stars on the college court.

Ayoka Lee, who currently plays for Kansas State has been nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year. The award recognizes those who have excelled in academics, athletics, community service and leadership.

10 nominees are chosen from every conference in the NCAA before being narrowed down to 30 in October and then eventually three. The winner will be announced next January in San Antonio.

Lee made headlines this past season for scoring 61 points the most by any athlete in a single Division I basketball game.
