Class AA and AAA State Track & Field Final Results

(ABC 6 News) — Saturday, the bow was finally put on the high school track and field season in St. Michael.
Class AA and Class AAA had their final rounds in the MSHSL State Track & Field Championships, with several local high schools leaving as state medalists.
In Class AA’s Byron’s Paige Halder came in second in the girls 400m, running a personal-best time of 58.1 seconds. Plainview-Elgin-Millville’s Ashton Kisch also took second place, competing in the boys discus throw with a 154-foot one-inch try. Meanwhile, Stewartville’s Carter Anderson not only won the Class AA boys high jump but also set a new personal record by jumping six feet and six inches.
Class AAA mainly had Century and Mayo present place well in competition, such as third in the 4x800m relay (a school-best 9:26.70). The Panthers did win the girls 4x100m with a time of 47.7 seconds, a school record as well.
The Panthers’ Maximilian Comfere set personal records in the 100m (10.62 seconds) and 200m (21.21 seconds) dashes despite finishing second in both while John Marshall’s Michael Nicometo placed third in the latter.
Comfere’s teammate, Penelopea Gordon also had a personal best in the 800m race with a 2:13.30 third-place time. Mayo’s Hannah Hanson was fifth in the girls 300m hurdles(44.39 seconds, a personal record) while Yaih Marial landed 6’6" in the high jump to win the event.
