(ABC 6 News) — ABC 6 Sports met with Byron Girls Basketball ahead of their Friday night contest with Lourdes. Both teams are Hiawatha Valley Conference foes and head into Friday as ranked squads in their respective classes. The Bears are #19 in Class AAA while Lourdes is #7 in Class AA, the latter having bested Byron on the Bears’ court on January 10.
“Well, Lourdes is always one of our hardest competitions throughout the year, so I think it should be a good game hopefully,” sophomore Bears guard Kendra Harvey said.
“I think we need to come out really aggressive and have high intensity,” senior Bears guard Emma Stork added. “They are pretty energetic on the court, off the court so I think we need to match that or do even better than that. Do the one more passes, push it up, continue to work hard on defense. I think those are the big factors that will help us come out with the win.”
Tip-off at Lourdes High School is Friday, February 10 at 7 PM.
