(ABC 6 News) – It was Kids Day on Monday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The Minnesota Wild are trying tot encourage the next generation of hockey players to keep at it.

The team had kids doing all kinds of jobs around the rink, from singing the national anthem, to playing the organ and DJing.

The event also featured crafts, face painting and meet-and-greets with Minnesota sports mascots.
