Dodge County Girls Hockey gets State send-off
(ABC 6 News) — Dodge County Girls Hockey begins its state playoff run on Wednesday, the Wildcats’ first-ever trip in program history.
On Tuesday, the parents and supporters gathered at Dodge County Ice Arena to see off the Section 1A Champions. It’s an exciting moment for the Dodge County community as parent Amy Roethler expressed.
“Actually, a lot of these girls back in 2020 at youth level had made it to State and State got canceled,” Roethler, whose daughter Grace is on the team, said. “So, many of them had been waiting for their moment to get to a state-level hockey tournament. So, this is so, so exciting for them.”
“We have a very young group, there’s only four seniors on the team, they’re pillars on the team of course, but this team, I think, has a lot yet to come. I look to go back there next year which would be even better.”
The Wildcats are the third seed in the Class A Tournament, playing Fergus Falls at 1 PM at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. ABC 6 News will have afternoon highlights and coverage of the game.
