Honkers’ Regino and Trumper appear in NWL All-Star Game

(ABC 6 News) — Tuesday was the 2022 Northwoods League All-Star Game and two of the Rochester Honkers were present along with the league’s finest in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Honkers’ Nico Regino made his first plate appearance in the top of the seventh inning, but was out after one swing, unable to reach first. His second and final plate appearance saw him strike out in the top of the 9th.
Closer Thaniel Trumper came in during the bottom of the 7th, recording two outs before Bismarck’s Edwin Colón replaced him. Trumper’s overall night saw him allow an earned run while also giving an assist on an out.
Both Honkers ended up on the winning team, Great Plains, in a 4-2 victory. Regino and Trumper will rejoin the Honkers as they host the Willmar Stingers at 6:35 PM on Thursday.
