Pine Island hosts 7 on 7 football competition

(ABC 6 News) — Prep football is right around the corner and if you look hard enough, you’ll see some teams are already getting ready for the upcoming season.
At Pine Island high school, the Panthers hosted a 7-on-7 competition. Wabasha-Kellogg, Lake City, Goodhue, Zumbrota-Mazeppa and Red Wing were all there.
Sunday evening, Zumbrota-Mazeppa was paired with Red Wing, as the Cougars get set for their home opener against Dover-Eyota on September 1. Red Wing will face Winona on the road that same day.
