(ABC 6 News) — Pine Island Baseball’s Brandon Week is going to the D-I level after announcing on social media he will play college baseball with South Dakota State.

Through 15 games last season, Week had 7 RBI’s, a home run and a team-second 8 stolen bases. Week also pitched at least 8 games, racking up 42 strikeouts over 33.1 innings with an era of 3.36.

Meanwhile in Iowa, St. Ansgar’s Aspen Falk will take her volleyball talents to Wartburg College.

The senior is also well-versed in basketball and softball and was recently named the winner of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association State Student-Athlete Scholarship.

For now, she’ll focus on taking Saints Girls Hoops as far as they can in the Iowa high school girls basketball playoffs. The Saints’ next playoff game is at Newman Catholic on Tuesday, February 13 at 7 PM.
