(ABC 6 News) — Rochester native and former Century Panther Will Zmolek’s pursuit of the NHL is one step closer.
Per the Flyers team itself, the hockey organization has signed Zmolek to its AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Tuesday. Zmolek’s contract is entry-level and will have him on the Phantoms for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Will, son of John Marshall grad and NHL veteran Doug Zmolek, spent the past four seasons with Bemidji State University, scoring a total of 46 points over four seasons with the Beavers as a defenseman. This season alone, Zmolek had a team-third-best 17 assists with four goals to boot.
