(ABC 6 News) — The Austin Bruins have announced two of their players will be moving onto the next level and play Division I college hockey.
Alternate captain Walter Zacher is bound for Robert Morris University while defenseman Matt Desiderio will be heading to Brown. Zacher has 22 goals on the season for the Bruins, a single-season career-high for the third-year NAHL player.
Desiderio has 3 goals and 14 assists in his lone season with Austin and is also the second Bruin ever to commit to Brown. Zacher will join a Colonials hockey team that was recently reinstated and will return to action for the 2023-24 campaign.
