(ABC 6 Sports) — Tough news regarding Clear Lake native Trevor Penning came out on Saturday.
The former Newman Catholic Knight is out for the New Orleans Saints indefinitely with a foot injury per multiple reports.
Penning, who played college football at Northern Iowa, was drafted 19th overall by New Orleans during the 2022 NFL Draft on April 28. The offensive lineman’s injury was a torn ligament that will require surgery, putting his rookie season on hold.
The Saints will have to play without him in the meantime, opening their season at the Atlanta Falcons on September 11.
