Countdown is on to Mauer HOF induction
(ABC 6 News) – We are just days away from Minnesota’s favorite catcher from joining baseball’s greatest players in Cooperstown, New York.
Joe Mauer’s induction into the MLB Hall of Fame is a significant milestone, not just for him, but for the Minnesota Twins. Fittingly, he is the seventh Minnesota Twin to receive this honor and the third to be selected on the first ballot, a testament to his impact on the team and the sport.
Mauer became the first-ever catcher to win an American or National League batting title, capturing the A.L crown in 2006. He then repeated the feat in 2008 and his M.VP. 2009 season. He hit .365 and won his second consecutive Gold Glove award.
The induction ceremony takes place at 12:30 p.m. CST on the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown grounds.
