(ABC 6 News) — Families took to downtown Rochester for the second annual Downtown Candy Crawl on Saturday.

Hundreds of kids and adults put on their best costumes to trick-or-treat around Peace Plaza and the businesses surrounding it.

Trick-or-treaters stopped into the 20 different businesses participating in the candy crawl for candy, games, music and more.

Organizers said events like this one help people get a taste of all of the businesses downtown, and hope it encourages them to shop locally.

“Even if you’re not necessarily coming downtown to shop or dine today, it really is about hopping around and seeing all of the different um businesses that we have down here,” Naura Anderson, the owner of Threshold Arts and Operator of the Historic Chateau Theatre, said.
