Fravel on Trial; Day 15: More data pulled from the couple’s phones
(ABC 6 News) – Adam Fravel’s murder trial continued on Friday with more data being pulled from the couple’s cell phones, including text messages and search history.
Prosecutors argued Fravel was abusing Kingsbury and obsessed over why she stopped sharing her location with him. They also argued Kingsbury felt it was too late for them.
In the fall of 2022, Kingsbury texted Fravel saying to never put his hands around her neck and push her down in front of their children again. Fravel replied, “you’ll adjust.”
Data from Fravel’s phone revealed it’s location data. On March 31, the day Kingsbury went missing, Fravel’s phone left home for his children’s daycare before returning again from 8-8:15 a.m..
After that, it did not leave the house until 4 p.m. when he picked his children up at daycare. But witnesses testified to surveillance video capturing a van matching Kingsbury’s driving south on Highway 43 that day between noon and 1 p.m..
Kingsbury’s phone never left home after 8:14 that morning.
Data collected from the phones show what the defense claims are “secret truths.” Fravel’s attorneys argued Kingsbury was not abuse and had secrets when it came to her sex life.
The defense showed the jury text messages from Kingsbury asking Fravel for sex as recently as one month before she disappeared. They also showed her searches on various porn sites, one of which was for “rough sex.”
A few days before she went missing, Kingsbury googled “coming clean about cheating”; evidence the state attempted to prevent from being in the trial. The judge agreed with Fravel’s team that it is “absolutely relevant.”
ABC 6 News will be in Mankato for the duration of the trial, and full coverage can be found here.
