(ABC 6 News) – Local Hy-Vee stores are donating 400 bags of groceries to families in need this Thanksgiving.
300 of those bags will be distributed to families by the Rochester Public School system and 100 will be picked up through a drive-thru by families at the Rochester Salvation Army.
Hy-Vee is and has for many years been a big supporter of the Salvation Army during the holiday season and year-round. This year they are especially happy to know that the work they do keeps local families from going hungry.
Families that wish to receive a bag of groceries just need to come by the Salvation Army Social Services building at 115 First Avenue NE in Rochester at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21.
There is no application process required but they will stop distributing the grocery bags once they run out.
