(ABC 6 News) – Two Manly residents entered a not-guilty plea in a felony child endangerment case stemming out of Worth County, Iowa.
Gary Anderson, 48 of Texas, and Antwine King, 34 of Manly, were charged with felony child endangerment in Sept. of 2023.
According to court documents, the Manly Police Dept. responded to the 200 block of South Broadway St. in February for a medical call after a 3-year-old child had stopped breathing.

First responders administered CPR and the child began breathing again, but medical personnel noted she was covered in wounds in various stages of healing, ranging from scar tissue to recent, open wounds.
According to court documents, caregivers Antwine Maria King and Gary Wayne Anderson had not sought medical treatment for any injuries.
Court documents allege that “it was clear” the child had been abused.
Anderson’s jury trial begins on Dec. 6 in Worth County.
King’s trial has not been scheduled yet.
